If this year has taught us anything, it is that we can’t predict what is going to happen. We can set a whole list of goals we want to achieve but in the blink of an eye, our whole world can flip upside down. So, this year instead of setting goals I am setting ambitions. These are things I want to accomplish in the new year no matter what life throws my way. Another option is to set monthly goals, this way you have a more realistic timeline to complete them.
Finding my Inner Peace
This year has caused a lot of chaos and with chaos comes anxiety. My ambition for next year is to try and find my inner peace. What I mean by inner peace is by finding ways to calm myself in hard times. This could include mediations, yoga, cold showers and so much more. Really anything that will make me calm when times get tough. I feel a lot of people can relate to this.
Trying to Establish a Routine
With all the ups and downs of this year, I have not been able to create a routine. My goal for next year is no matter what life throws at me I want to make sure I include certain parts of my routine into my everyday. This could be anything from writing in my journal, working out, meditation, or just doing my hair.
Try Something New
I say this every year but I want to actually do it this year. This year I tried boxing while in lockdown and I loved it. Who knows what next year is going to bring but I am sure we can find something new to try. Especially if we are going to be in quarantine for a long time this gives us the perfect amount of time to try something new.
Check in on Old Friends
I want to take the time next year to really check in with some old friends. These would be people I have not talked to in a while. I always say I am going to reach out to these people but I never actually do. It always makes someone’s day when they get a message from someone asking how they are. At this time we need to check-in and see how people are doing.
Ditch a Bad Habit
I have made some bad habits during quarantine! Some of these habits include spending way too much time on my phone, not washing my face as much, eating unhealthy. I want to focus on one of these habits and ditch it. This could be instead of being on my phone before bed, I read a book. This would probably cut my time down by an hour lol. Just simple things we do can help break a bad habit.
Hope I gave you some ideas for the new year. Remember that if you can’t complete all your ambitions that is okay. Life is not perfect and can get in the way.
